Congested Hounslow

Recent statistics released by the Department for Transport reveal much heavier road usage in Hounslow than anywhere else in the country in 2016.

Local Newspaper report on the above

The DfT table on which the above report was based.

The figures for London and as a whole and for Hounslow are interesting and perhaps surprising. There appears to be a clear downward trend since 1999. The numbers give “the number of vehicles passing in 24 hours at an average point on the road network in each local authority. This controls for differing length of road in each authority, providing a measure of how heavily used the roads are. It is calculated by dividing the estimate of annual vehicle miles in each local authority by the length of road in that authority and number of days in the year”.
